Support healing + reduce swelling + enhance outcomes
How to use:
1. Prepare
• Ensure skin is clean and dry.
• Remove jewellery and avoid sharp nails when handling the garment.
2. Position
• If advised by your clinician, place any protective dressing/padding over treated areas.
• Place chin centrally in the chin cup (or align the lower band beneath the jaw if your model has no cup).
3. Apply & Secure
• Bring the straps up and around the head/occiput.
• Fasten the closures (Velcro/hook-and-eye) so the garment lies flat and smooth with no folds or creases
4. Check the Fit
• Compression should feel snug, supportive, and comfortable—never painful.
• You should be able to slide a hand/fingers under the fabric without difficulty. Re-adjust if numbness, tingling, or skin blanching occurs.
5.Wear Schedule (unless your clinician instructs otherwise)
• First 2 weeks: Wear continuously, including during sleep; remove only for brief hygiene.
• Weeks 3–4: Wear mainly at home or overnight as directed.
-
Sleep & Posture
• Sleep with head elevated to help minimise swelling -
Cleaning & Care
• Wash daily or as needed: hand wash or gentle machine cycle; lukewarm water; mild detergent.
• Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.
• Rinse thoroughly. Air-dry away from direct heat or sunlight. Close hook-and-loop tabs before washing; a mesh laundry bag helps protect the garment. -
When to Stop & Seek Advice
• If you experience persistent pain, numbness, unusual redness/discolouration, or breathing discomfort, loosen or remove the garment and contact your clinician.
