M.A.M.I. STAR AWARD

Independent Guide and Recognition for Excellence

is an independent recognition system dedicated to identifying and honouring exceptional standards within aesthetic medicine and advocacy for health and medicine.

The guide with strict independence and a zero-conflict-of-interest policy.

Recognition is granted through a structured evaluation process based on anonymous patient experiences and assessments by independent industry experts.

The M.A.M.I. framework was established in 2017 to provide the cosmetic medicine industry with a credible, impartial benchmark of excellence, free from commercial influence.

Principles of Recognition

• Experts selected following independent review — no application process
• Confidential multi-source evaluation methodology
Limited recognition granted annually
Peer-acknowledged professional excellence
• Transparent and clearly defined evaluation criteria
No payments permitted to obtain or influence recognition

Core Philosophy

The M.A.M.I. STAR AWARD recognises excellence through a comprehensive and independent evaluation process.

Recognition is based solely on professional merit, patient experience, and significance of impact, rather than marketing visibility or commercial participation.

Key principles guiding the M.A.M.I. Guide include:

No application or nomination by the practitioner
Anonymous evaluators and confidential assessments
Multi-year consistency of clinical standards
Limited number of awards issued annually
No payment required to receive recognition
Strict conflict-of-interest policies

These principles ensure the integrity and credibility of the M.A.M.I. STAR AWARD.

Eligibility Criteria (for Doctors)

Before a practitioner or clinic enters the evaluation process, baseline professional standards must be met.

Minimum requirements include:

• Licensed Medical Doctor holding the highest recognised medical qualification within their jurisdiction
• Minimum 7 years of clinical experience in cosmetic or aesthetic medicine
• No significant regulatory sanctions within the past five years
• Evidence of continuing medical education and professional development
• Active clinical practice

These criteria ensure that only experienced and professionally established practitioners may be considered for evaluation.

Evaluation Methodology

The M.A.M.I. STAR AWARD is determined through multiple independent assessment channels, ensuring balanced and objective evaluation. Not all criteria available for assessment in each case, but overall points of assessment.

1. Anonymous Patient/Client Experience Assessment

A central role in the evaluation process.

Feedback is collected through:

• Verified post-treatment feedback and surveys
• Independent patient interviews
• Anonymous evaluations where practitioners/clinics are not aware of the identity of the evaluator

Assessment includes:

• Patient satisfaction
• Communication and consultation quality
• Treatment outcomes and results
• Complication prevention and management
• Long-term outcomes

2. Peer & Industry Recognition

Professional reputation and influence is an important indicator of excellence.

Evaluations are gathered from respected professionals including:

• Dermatologists
• Plastic surgeons
• Cosmetic physicians
• Senior aesthetic nurses
• Industry educators and trainers

Assessment focuses on:

• Professional reputation
• Standards
• Referrals and professional trust
• Complications prevention and management
• Contribution to the advancement of the profession
• Depth of knowledge and training

3. Independent Expert Panel Review

A board of independent experts conducts a structured review of professional practice.

Evaluation includes:

• Case documentation analysis
• Clinical decision-making and treatment planning
• Aesthetic judgement and techniques
• Complication prevention and management
• Contribution to the development of aesthetic medicine

4. Practice Excellence Assessment

The operational standards of the clinical environment are also evaluated.

Assessment includes:

• Patient safety systems and protocols
• Infection prevention and control procedures
• Informed consent standards
• Complication preparedness and management
• Clinical team training and professional development

Combined multi-source evaluation ensures that recognition reflects genuine excellence rather than marketing visibility.
