The M.A.M.I. STAR Award is an honorary professional recognition presented by M.A.M.I. to acknowledge individuals who have made a meaningful contribution to aesthetic and preventative medicine, plastic surgery, dermatology, medical aesthetics, education, research and related professional fields.
Our Principles
M.A.M.I. STAR Awards are guided by the principles of professional merit, integrity, transparency and independence from commercial obligation.

There is:
- no nomination or application fee;
- no requirement to purchase M.A.M.I. products, services or education;
- no requirement to provide patient or professional referrals;
- no requirement to promote M.A.M.I.;
- no requirement to provide a testimonial or endorsement;
- no requirement to participate in advertising or social media; and
- no requirement to enter into any commercial relationship with M.A.M.I.
Acceptance of a M.A.M.I. STAR Award creates no obligation to M.A.M.I.
Selection
Recipients are considered on the basis of their professional contribution and may be recognised for achievements including:
- contribution to aesthetic medicine, plastic surgery or related fields;
- professional or clinical leadership;
- education and training;
- research and innovation;
- contribution to patient care or professional standards;
- academic or scientific achievement;

- contribution to the wider professional community.
Recipients are not required to satisfy every criterion.
Each Award is granted as a genuine professional recognition determined by M.A.M.I.' committee.
Professional and Commercial Independence
A M.A.M.I. STAR Award is not conditional upon any past, present or future commercial relationship with M.A.M.I.
An Award is not provided in exchange for:
- referrals;
- prescribing or treatment decisions;
- purchasing products or services;
- participation in M.A.M.I. education;
- favourable publicity;
- endorsements; or
- promotional activity.
Where a recipient has an existing professional or commercial relationship with M.A.M.I., this does not itself determine eligibility for an Award.
Award Presentation and Gifts
M.A.M.I. may personally present an Award and may provide a commemorative or courtesy gift.
Any gift is unconditional and does not create an expectation of referrals, promotion, endorsement, purchasing or any other commercial benefit.
Public Recognition
With appropriate permission, M.A.M.I. may acknowledge Award recipients through its website, professional communications, events or social media.
Any public recognition is intended to accurately acknowledge the recipient's professional contribution.
A M.A.M.I. STAR Award does not represent accreditation, registration or endorsement by AHPRA, the Medical Board of Australia, the Therapeutic Goods Administration, any government authority or any other regulatory body.
No Product or Treatment Endorsement
Receiving a M.A.M.I. STAR Award does not, by itself, constitute an endorsement by the recipient of:
- M.A.M.I.;
- any clinic or healthcare provider;
- any medical or cosmetic treatment;
- any medicine or therapeutic good;
- any skincare product; or
- any other commercial product or service.
A recipient's name, image or Award must not be used in a way that misleadingly implies endorsement of a health service, treatment or therapeutic product.
Integrity of the Award
M.A.M.I. is committed to maintaining the integrity and credibility of the STAR Award program.
M.A.M.I. may amend, correct or withdraw an Award or associated public statement if information relied upon is materially inaccurate, circumstances materially change, or continued publication could create a misleading impression.
Regulatory Statement
The M.A.M.I. STAR Award program is intended to operate consistently with applicable Australian professional, advertising and consumer protection requirements.
The M.A.M.I. STAR Award is an honorary recognition made by M.A.M.I. and is not a professional qualification, government award, accreditation or regulatory endorsement.
